About the Shop
Lee Frame Shop was opened in 1932 by Bert Lee. It
was originally located next to the Fox Theatre at 1021 W. Sprague in downtown Spokane. The shop has
had a number of owners over the years but no one has ever changed the name. In
1980 the shop was moved to its present location at 1407 W. First in the heart
of Carnegie Square, so named because of the Carnegie Library which was built by
the Carnegie Foundation in the 1920's. The area went through a renovation thanks
to Integrus Architects who transformed the library into their offices and to Wells
and Company, a firm which owns buildings on the other three corners of the
square that feature unique shops and restaurants.
